Russia working on closed cycle sub

Kilo classRussia is developing a new submarine with a closed cycle engine to be used in coastal areas, a Naval Staff spokesman said.

The new submarines can remain underwater for several weeks and will replace diesel and diesel-electric submarines in the future.

On March 19th Russia will mark the 105th anniversary of the country’s submarine fleet.
