Nuclear submarines are not supposed to be seen.

These machines operate covertly and offensively, so when they hit the headlines it is usually for the wrong reasons.

Last October, HMS Astute, reportedly the world’s most advanced nuclear-powered submarine, became stranded on a shingle bank near Scotland’s Skye Bridge during a training exercise.
