A busted flush: Jinxed Navy submarine that ran aground returns to port with sewage system failure

Astute class submarineThe Royal Navy’s newest and largest nuclear submarine - which recently ran aground off the Scottish coast - has returned to port after breaking down again during sea trials.

The £1.2billion HMS Astute arrived back at its home port of Faslane on the River Clyde with failures to its weapons support and sewage systems.

The latter problem resulted in the vessel’s toilets being out of service for its 90 crew.
