Delivery to Thailand has started

Saab 340 AEW-CAt a ceremony held on November 13 at Saab in Linköping, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) handed over a Saab 340 ERIEYE AEW and a Saab 340 for transport and training to the Royal Thai Air Force.

These were ordered in the first contract that was signed between the Swedish Government, through FMV, and Thailand in 2008. Thailand then ordered a complete air defence system from FMV.

Representatives from the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), FMV and Saab were present during the ceremony. Air Marshal Songtam Chokkanapitag represented RTAF and in his speech he praised the relationship now evolving between Thailand and Sweden.
