Selex Galileo, a unit of Italy's Finmeccanica, has received a 200 million pound ($316.45 million) contract to supply 88 Captor radar systems for Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, the firm said Oct. 5.The mechanically scanned, or M-scan, radars, which have equipped first- and second-tranche Typhoons, were ordered for the so-called Tranche 3A aircraft.
Deliveries are due to commence in 2012. To date, Selex Galileo, EADS Defense Electronics and Indra have together produced more than 400 Captor radars.
