Plymouth's naval base will be spared, says Gary Streeter

Devonport Naval Base will be spared in the Government's defence review, city MP Gary Streeter believes.

But Plymouth needs to "look around the corner" at whether there will be a naval base in 20 years time, the South West Devon MP said.

Mr Streeter, speaking after the Government's National Security Strategy was published yesterday, said he believed "there will be pain, but Devonport will be fine, I think."
