Iran’s Navy in complete military preparedness: commander

AIM-54 PhoenixIran’s Navy is completely ready to counter any threat posed by the enemy, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Monday.

Sayyari also said the Iranian warships are not in the Gulf of Aden just to prevent pirate attacks, but also it is part of the strategic policy of the Navy to show Iran’s might in the world.

He also said a number of new Qadir submarines will join the army during the current week.

  1. Iran is mentioning Pheonix as it has some 30 year old ones used on the F-14s that the late Shah bought. Modifying Pheonixes so they'll be just 20 years old fashioned is not much. Iran buying Russia's latest air-air missiles would spell real progress.
