Iran to Display Modern Weaponry on Army Day


The Iranian Army is scheduled to exhibit its latest weaponry and military hardware during the annual Army Day parades on September 22, marking the country's resistance against the 8-year-long Iraqi invasion in 1980.

"This year the latest achievements, weaponry and equipment of the Army Ground Force will be displayed for the first time in the huge parades on September 22," Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force for Coordination Affairs General Mohammad Hassan Baqeri announced on Saturday.

Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan had earlier this month announced that the Army plans to display a number of its new, home-grown air, ground and naval weapons during the Week of Holy Defense.
