Iran set to unveil updated battle tank

Zolfaqar battle tankAn updated version of the Zolfaqar battle tank will be unveiled as early as this weekend, Iranian military officials said.

Iranian Army Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan told the semiofficial Fars News Agency that the military was ready to unveil the updated battle tank during the next Iranian month, which begins Saturday.

"Army's ground force has carried out ample research and studies for upgrading the technology and applications of Zolfaqar tanks, and the updated version of the tank will be unveiled in the (Iranian) month of Khordad (May 22 - June 21)," he said.
