Mi-26 lifts Chinook in Afghanistan

Mi-26 CH-47The Netherlands Ministry of Defence has hired in a Russian Mi-26 to airlift a CH-47 Chinook damaged in a hard landing.

The accident happened on October 13 in the Uruzgan region of Afghanistan damaging the aircraft and leaving it unable to fly.

The Mi-26 lifted the Chinook and flew it to Kandahar air field and was escorted by a pair of Apaches.
