India can make N-powered aircraft carrier

Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) chairman Anil Kakodkar has said that India is capable of designing and developing nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

He was speaking to reporters after delivering the 15th Lalit Doshi Memorial Lecture on ‘Nuclear Energy in India: Way Ahead’ in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Asked whether India has such capability, he said, ‘‘Yes.’’
