Russia launches ballistic missile from strategic submarine

President Dmitry MedvedevA Russian strategic submarine successfully launched a ballistic missile on Monday, President Dmitry Medvedev said.

“A missile was launched from a strategic a submarine today,” the president said at a meeting with Navy men in Sochi.

Medvedev stressed that “the target was hit, and the missile parts fell in the designated area.”

He did not specify the type of the missile.
