Iran domestic submarines join naval fleet

Ghadir class submarineIran's domestically manufactured fleet of lightweight submarines makes great strides after three mid-jet Ghadir-class submarines come on stream.

The new homemade submarines were added to Iran's Naval Submarine fleet in southern Bandar Abbas port city on Monday in presence of the Commander of the Iranian Army, Major General Ataollah Salehi, Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammad Mostafa-Najjar and senior Iranian navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

The fleet was also equipped with 18 high-speed vessels.
