One of the world's most advanced warships is to be officially handed over to the Royal Navy during a ceremony on the Clyde. HMS Daring will be the first of six new Type 45 destroyers built by BVT Surface Fleet in Glasgow to enter service.
The 7,000 tonne vessel has successfully carried out sea trials after being launched at BVT's Scotstoun yard in 2006 and will enter service in January.
