Yuri Dolgoruky newest strategic nuclear submarine will take sea before this year-end; its reactor will be set into motion in November, Sevmash (Severodvinsk) General Director Nikolay Kalistratov told RIA Novosti.
Sevmash set to constructing Yuri Dolgoruky submarine (project 955, Boreas) far back in 1996. Its displacement equals 14,720 tons/24,000 tons, the maximum submergence depth reaches 450 meters, velocity – 15 knots/29 knots.
The crew consists of 107 submariners (55 officers). The G4 submarine Yuri Dolgoruky may remain underwater without submerging for 100 days.
