Dispatch of Korean Navy Ships to Somalian Waters

The South Korean government recently decided to send a squadron of navy ships to waters off Somalia in a bid to protect its fishing and cargo ships from piracy.

Now the global community is making an effort to ensure safety in the troubled waters where private ships have frequently been the target of attacks by pirates; the United States, England, Germany, Russia and India already dispatched their ships for patrolling and the European Union will soon follow suit.

In this sense, the government’s decision is seen as very timely.
