Warships Tackle Somalian Pirates

A flotilla of Nato warships has been sent to patrol pirate-infested waters off Somalia.

The seven ships will escort cargo vessels carrying UN food aid to the African country - and step in if bandits attack.

Pirates have hijacked 30 ships off the coast this year, and attacked another 70.

The Nato group, made up of destroyers and frigates, are still awaiting official rules of engagement if they come into contact with pirates.
