Russians target African defence market- field BrahMos at AAD-2008

The Russians are making a concerted effort at targeting the African defence market, which, they confess, has been left virtually open for the Chinese.

A massive Russian delegation, backed up with impressive displays, is making its presence felt at the Africa Aerospace and Defence-2008.

This is the largest aerospace, defence, and security exhibition in the region and is currently open for public exhibition at the Air Force Base Ysterplaat near Cape Town in South Africa.

The biennial event involves weapons manufacturers from all over the world and focuses especially on aerospace, defence as well as military and dual-purpose equipment.
