Raytheon missile passes second test

Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems completed its second test of the Standard Missile-6 on Friday, the company said.

In a test at the White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico, the SM-6 successfully intercepted an aerial drone.

The SM-6, designed to defend against long-range threats from manned and unmanned aircraft and cruise missiles, is expected to be deployed in 2011.
