Canadian naval ship, Ville de Québec, will escort ships carrying relief food from the United Nations World Food Programme to Somalia until September 27. The ship that was built in Quebec City and was commissioned in 1993 has a helicopter on board.
The ship is based in the Mediterranean Sea where it supports the ‘war against terror.’
It will escort three ships that are expected to ferry 36,000 metric tonnes of food from Mombasa.
