Pentagon plans to sell six military-transport planes to Iraq

The Pentagon has notified the US Congress that it intends to sell to Iraq six military-transport planes C-130J Super Hercules, as well as spare engines and other equipment.

It said in a statement circulated that the total sum of the deal is estimated at 1.5 billion US dollars.

Pentagon officials note that the Baghdad authorities intend to use these planes for providing support to their troops and conducting humanitarian operations.
