Seahawk copters may replace Seasprites

The Australian navy's cancelled order for the troubled Super Seasprite helicopters could be replaced by the latest version of the Seahawk, now entering service with the US Navy.

US aerospace giant Lockheed Martin is to offer Australia the Sikorsky MH-60R multi-mission helicopter.

It features an advanced and proven electronic suite able to hunt submarines, fire missiles at distant warships and also back up for search and rescue duty.
