HMS Marlborough takes on the colors of the Chilean Navy

This Wednesday the former Royal Navy HMS Marlborough will officially fly the colors of the Chilean Navy under the name of FF06 “Almirante Condell”.

This last frigate puts an end to Chile’s renovation of its surface fleet under the project “Puente” which included the acquisition of three British frigates Type 23, FF05 “Almirante Cochrane”, FF07 “Almirante Lynch” and FF06, “Almirante Condell”, one Type 22 FF19 “Almirante Williams” plus four Dutch frigates Types M and L, FF15 “Almirante Blanco Encalada”; FF18 “Almirante Riveros”; FFG14, “Almirante Latorre”, FFG11 “Capitán Prat”.

All Royal Navy frigates sold to the Chilean Navy at sometime were involved in the South Atlantic patrol.
