Grumman gets $186M aircraft carrier contract

Northrop Grumman Newport News was awarded a planning contract on Friday from the U.S. Navy for the refueling and overhaul of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.

The $186.4 million option continues work awarded in 2006, as part of a $558.2 million contract.

Work is scheduled to begin on the carrier at the Newport News shipyard in 2009.
