Naval LCA To Fly Mid 2008; MCA Design Objectives, Details Revealed

P S Subramanyam, the Programme Director at Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), is reported to have said that the Naval Light Combat Aircraft will be all set to make first flight by mid 2008. Two prototypes have been approved and are underdevelopment.

The Naval LCA would have a larger cockpit and larger windscreen, and has been overall optimized to work in a maritime war theatre environment, including off air craft carriers.

For the first time, details of the MCA (Medium Combat Aircraft) were shared by the Agency. The MCA is to be a twin engined aircraft, exclusively to be designed for strike missions.
