Europe Tiger copter to carry Hellfire II

Europe's Tiger helicopters will soon be armed with a U.S.-made missile system that can attack dug-in terrorists.

The new weapons are also designed to be effective against tanks in open combat.

Eurocopter awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to integrate its Hellfire II missile and accompanying M299 launcher with the Tiger, a front-line attack helicopter used by France, Germany and other nations.
