Australian Govt to continue Seasprite contract

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usThe government is to persevere with the troubled Seasprite helicopter project even though it's running six years late.

Defence Minister Brendan Nelson says the government will now take steps to ensure that progress by contractor Kaman is measured against milestones during the course of additional work.

"In April 2006, I initiated a full examination of the Seasprite project following grounding of the aircraft due to concerns over the reliability of the Seasprite's automated flight control system," he said in a statement.
