Russia Builds Nuclear Submarines

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usRussia is building three fourth-generation nuclear submarines that would bring substantial improvement to the country's arsenal and equipment, Russia's Navy chief, Admiral Vladimir Masorin, said on Friday.

Explaining the technological war between Russia and its western rivals, Masorin noted the role that the submarines Yuri Dolgoruki, Alexandr Nevsky and Vladimir Monomai would play as the Navy's flagships.

The three submarines were included in Russia's arms program until 2015, which prioritizes the development of nuclear strategic troops, RIA Novosti reported.
