Algeria, Russia hold negotiations on arms sale

Russia is in negotiations with Algeria on the sale of arms worth 7 billion U.S. dollars, Algerian media reported on Saturday.

These negotiations come in the wake of Algeria's invitation for bids to help modernize its armed forces, according to the daily La Tribune.

The ongoing negotiations are on the purchase of Russia-made Soukhoi Su-32 and Mig 29 fighter bombers, T-90 tanks and Pantsir air defense systems, Algerian daily "Quotidien d'Oran" reported.
