In capacity, the submarine fleet of Russia is second only to the United States, said Captain I Rank Igor Dygalo, who is the aide to Russia’s Navy commander-in-chief.
”The strength of undersea force has reduced materially with submarines of the third postwar generation mostly left in commission. At the same time, in terms of the vessel strength and operational capability, the submarine fleet of Russia is the second in the world, yielding only to undersea force of the United States,” Dygalo said.
The existence of submarine fleet enables our country to remain one of the biggest sea powers and forces key players of world politics to take our interests into account.
”And that is despite the fact that we have failed to come out of the crisis and restore our economic potential,” the official pointed out.
