Chile's navy aqcuires British frigate

The British Royal Navy on Wednesday officially handed over control of the newly named "Almirante Lynch," a second-hand British frigate, to the Chilean Navy.

The ship, formerly known as the "HMS Grafton," is currently docked in Portsmouth, England, the site of this week's hand over ceremony.

Among those present during the event were Chile's ambassador to the United Kingdom, Rafael Moreno, the Chilean Navy's commander-in-chief, Rodolfo Condia, the vice-commander of the British Royal Fleet, Vice-Admiral Paul Boissier, and Major General Malcolm Wood, director general of logistics in Britain's Ministry of Defense.
