Pakistan Navy proved it is best in region

P3C OrionAdmiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir, Chief of Naval Staff, said that Pakistan Navy (PN) has experience to construct submarines, MCMvs, missile boats, coastal tankers, floating docks and other utility craft. The exposure at International Defence Exhibition IDEAS-2006 will help PN get orders to construct naval platforms.

He said this in an interview with the newsmen on Thursday.

Admiral Afzal said that with four F-22P Frigates co-production contract with China, (one to be constructed at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works KSEW), PN’s future acquisition of seagoing platforms will be fully indigenized.

“Induction of 8 US P3Cs will make aviation a potent wing and enable PN to participate in war against terrorism more effectively. Submarines are effective offensive punch of PN which is among the few who build these. I am confident PN will prove equal to task in hour of need,” he said.
