Calling Pakistan a "key ally" in the 'war on terror' and a "friendly nation" to the US, the Bush administration has notified Congress that it is planning to sell Harpoon Block II anti-ship missiles and related equipment and services for a total value of $370 million to the south Asian nation.
Notifying Congress of the impending sale, the Defence Security Cooperative Agency said Pakistan has requested for a possible sale of 50 UGM-84L (submarine-launched), 50RGM-84L (surface-launched), and 30 AGM-84L (air-launched) Block II HARPOON missiles along with five encapsulated HARPOON Command Launch Systems.
