The proposed US anti-missile base may be located in the site where military bases had existed in the past with two localities envisioned, the daily Mlada fronta Dnes (MfD) writes today.
Complexes near the Central Bohemian town of Dobris and Rapotice in south Moravia (roughly 40 kilometre to the west of Brno) were among the most important bases of national anti-aircraft defence, with the ability to shoot down even missiles, MfD writes.
The decision on whether a US anti-missile base will be built in the Czech Republic is to be made in a few weeks and the Americans expect a clear reply by end of September, MfD writes today.
