Russia will go ahead with the supply of Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran, director of the Federal Military-Technical Cooperation Service Mikhail Dmitriyev said today.
"We have a contract on the delivery of anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran. There is no reason not to fulfill this contract", Mr Dmitriyev said, adding Russia was not negotiating supplies of any weapons to Iran, except air defence systems.
"The contract on the supplies of air defence systems, which are of a purely defensive nature, has been concluded. No other talks are being held", Interfax news agency quoted Dmitriyev as saying.
Last December, Russia signed a contract to supply Iran with Tor-M1 missile systems, but officials categorically denied media reports that it was considering selling Tehran S-300 PM02 Favorit batteries.
