  Posted by Picasa
A division of Waltham-based Raytheon Co. has won a $35.6 million contract change for missiles for Turkey.

The contract calls for Raytheon Missile Systems, in Tucson, Ariz., to supply the government of Turkey with 127 AIM-9X Tactical Missiles, 22 Captive Air Training Missiles, and 41 containers, under the Foreign Military Sales Program.

The AIM-9X is more commonly known as the Sidewinder, an air-to-air, short-range heat-seeking missile.

The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Md., awarded the contract, which runs through March 2008.

Raytheon stock was trading at midmorning for $43.12 per share, up 13 cents from its close yesterday.
