Type 45 Destroyer set to be commissioned

The last of a new-generation of Type 45 Destroyers will be commissioned later this week.

Portsmouth-based HMS Duncan joins new Type 45s HMS Daring, Dauntless, Diamond, Dragon and Defender.

Hundreds of guests will be joined by the ship’s company at a ‘Christening’ ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Base to mark the ship’s transition into front-line service.
