Chinese aircraft carrier returns to home port

Liaoning aircraft carrierChina's first aircraft carrier "Liaoning" returned yesterday morning to a naval port in Qingdao in east China's Shandong province after successfully completing its scheduled tests at sea.

During the tests, the ship-borne J-15 fighters made 100-odd sorties in all, conducting the tests of such subjects as taking-off with maximum payload along the long and short runways on the aircraft carrier, arresting-cable-controlled landing with maximum payload, and multi-weapon configuration takeoff and landing.

Furthermore, multiple fighters successfully completed take-off and landing on the aircraft carrier at short intervals.
