Navy frigate HMAS Sydney to make final stop in Geelong ahead of decommissioning

HMAS SydneyFormer Corio man Dave Murphy will make a special homecoming this weekend as the HMAS Sydney sails into Geelong.

He and fellow Navy personnel will welcome members of the public aboard the 35-year-old guided-missile frigate in its final visit to port before it is decommissioned later this year.

It will dock at Cunningham Pier from Friday to Tuesday, with an open day planned for Sunday from 10am-4pm.
