3rd Russian submarine arrives in Vietnam

Rolldock StarThe third Kilo-class submarine Russia built for Vietnam arrived at Cam Ranh Bay in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on Wednesday night.

The submarine, codenamed HQ184 Hai Phong, is being towed to Cam Ranh Port Thursday by cargo ship Rolldock Star.

This is the third of six Kilo-class diesel-electric submarines that Vietnam contracted to buy from Russia under a US$2-billion deal in 2009.
